Please take a moment and reflect on the upcoming National Police Parade to be held on Aquidneck Island on May 4, 2008. I would ask that you support this worthwhile event, as it is the only one of its kind in the country. Each year we sponsor this parade which is made possible by the volunteers that contribute countless hours and their fundraising efforts. The people who make up this committee do so in honor of all the officers that could not go home at the end of their watch as well as to pay tribute to the officers that perform their duties each and every day of the year to ensure our safety.

    This is the 25th Annual Parade and we have a great weekend planned and look forward to participation from several law enforcement organizations. On Friday May 2nd, we are planning a Black tie optional Policeman’s Ball. We are also planning our Second Annual Golf Outing on Saturday May 3rd at the Newport National Golf Course, followed by a steak fry dinner at the Middletown F.O.P. hall. We are also hoping to include a Family Fun day for the children to enjoy. The Parade will take place on Sunday May 4th followed by an after parade party for participants and their families. This event has attracted thousand of spectators and several thousand participants on an annual basis and it is impossible to impress upon you the amount of time and energy goes into the planning of this event.
